3.1 Case Layout

The Commtech 7900 pager has four buttons on its case.

3.2 Kit Components

Each programming kit contains:

 The 7900 programming cradle with USB cable

 A CDROM disk containing the 7900 programming software

 This 7900 programming manual

3.3 Other Required Components

The following will also be required in order to program the pagers:

 At least one 7900 pager that requires programming.

 The cap codes that the pager will respond to.

 The baud rate of POCSAG data that is being transmitted.

 The frequency of the transmitter.

 A start-up message that will be observed when turning on the pager.

 An IBM compatible PC running Windows XP with a CDROM drive and a spare

USB port.

 Basic IBM PC knowledge.

 Basic understanding of POCSAG paging principles.
